The Block skill tree focuses on your proficiency in parrying and riposte attacks. Increment this skill by striking enemies with riposte attacks, and being struck by enemies while blocking.

Below is a list of all of the abilities in Block to date:

Defensive Recovery

Blocking is not an easy art to master, but this passive ability tree helps you understand the techniques to retain your endurance and minimize the injuries you take should your guard be broken. You can diverge in technique to learn how to make your opponent more vulnerable to staggering or wounding blows, or to perfect your stance to defend better against superior numbers.


Defensive Recovery (I)

Prerequisites: Block (1)

Required For: Defensive Recovery (II)

While in Block mode you recover Stamina 5% faster and take 5% less cumulative Hit Point damage.


Defensive Recovery (II)

Prerequisites: Block (20), Defensive Recovery (I)

Required For: Point Man (III), Overwhelming Odds (III)

While in Block mode you recover Stamina 10% faster and take 10% less cumulative Hit Point damage.


Point Man


Point Man (III)

Prerequisites: Block (40), Defensive Recovery (II)

Required For: Point Man (IV)

While in Block mode you recover Stamina 15% faster and take 15% less cumulative Hit Point damage. Creatures attacking you suffer a -1 penalty to defend against knockdown and -5% less wounding resistance.


Point Man (IV)

Prerequisites: Block (60), Point Man (III)

Required For: Point Man (V)

While in Block mode you recover Stamina 20% faster and take 20% less cumulative Hit Point damage. Creatures attacking you suffer a -2 penalty to defend against knockdown and -10% less wounding resistance.


Point Man (V)

Prerequisites: Block (80), Point Man (IV)

While in Block mode you recover Stamina 25% faster and take 25% less cumulative Hit Point damage. Creatures attacking you suffer a -3 penalty to defend against knockdown and -15% less wounding resistance.


Overwhelming Odds


Overwhelming Odds (III)

Prerequisites: Block (40), Defensive Recovery (II)

Required For: Overwhelming Odds (IV)

While in Block mode you recover Stamina 15% faster and take 15% less cumulative Hit Point damage. You gain a +1 bonus to Block rolls if you are attacked by three or more creatures.


Overwhelming Odds (IV)

Prerequisites: Block (60), Overwhelming Odds (III)

Required For: Overwhelming Odds (V)

While in Block mode you recover Stamina 20% faster and take 20% less cumulative Hit Point damage. You gain a +1 bonus to Block rolls if you are attacked by three or more creatures and an additional +1 if you are attacked by five or more creatures.


Overwhelming Odds (V)

Prerequisites: Block (80), Overwhelming Odds (IV)

While in Block mode you recover Stamina 25% faster and take 25% less cumulative Hit Point damage. You gain a +1 bonus to Block rolls if you are attacked by two or more creatures and an additional +1 if you are attacked by four or more creatures.

Defensive Fighting

Punish enemies that fail to pierce your guard. This passive ability tree will increase the damage you do with riposte attacks.

Prerequisites: Block (10)

Required For: Defensive Fighting (II)

Your riposte attacks are made with +1 damage.


Defensive Fighting (II)

Prerequisites: Block (30), Defensive Fighting (I)

Required For: Defensive Fighting (III)

Your riposte attacks are made with +2 damage.


Defensive Fighting (III)

Prerequisites: Block (50), Defensive Fighting (II)

Required For: Defensive Fighting (IV)

Your riposte attacks are made with +3 damage.


Defensive Fighting (IV)

Prerequisites: Block (70), Defensive Fighting (III)

Required For: Defensive Fighting (V)

Your riposte attacks are made with +4 damage.


Defensive Fighting (V)

Prerequisites: Block (90), Defensive Fighting (IV)

Your riposte attacks are made with +5 damage.


Block-warded
Warded Defense

Stand fast and unwavering. This ability will passively improve your resistance to knockdown and area-of-effect attacks when blocking, and hinder attacks of opportunity your foes make upon others.


Warded Defense (I)

Prerequisites: Block (5)

Required For: Warded Defense (II)

While in Block mode you gain +1 to rolls to resist knockdown and +5% explosion immunity. Enemies attacking you make attacks of opportunity at -1 to-hit, except when those attacks are made against you or are caused by moving.


Warded Defense (II)

Prerequisites: Block (25), Warded Defense (I)

Required For: Warded Defense (III)

While in Block mode you gain +2 to rolls to resist knockdown and +10% explosion immunity. Enemies attacking you make attacks of opportunity at -2 to-hit, except when those attacks are made against you or are caused by moving.


Warded Defense (III)

Prerequisites: Block (45), Warded Defense (II)

Required For: Warded Defense (IV)

While in Block mode you gain +3 to rolls to resist knockdown and +15% explosion immunity. Enemies attacking you make attacks of opportunity at -3 to-hit, except when those attacks are made against you or are caused by moving.


Warded Defense (IV)

Prerequisites: Block (65), Warded Defense (III)

Required For: Warded Defense (V)

While in Block mode you gain +4 to rolls to resist knockdown and +20% explosion immunity. Enemies attacking you make attacks of opportunity at -4 to-hit, except when those attacks are made against you or are caused by moving.


Warded Defense (V)

Prerequisites: Block (85), Warded Defense (IV)

While in Block mode you gain +5 to rolls to resist knockdown and +25% explosion immunity. Enemies attacking you make attacks of opportunity at -5 to-hit, except when those attacks are made against you or are caused by moving.
