Mercantilism determines the prices of goods that you buy and sell. A higher Mercantilism score lowers the price you need to buy items and increases the amount of money merchants pay you for your goods.

Train this skill by buying and selling goods in NPC-controlled stores. Highly valued goods tend to be better at training the skill than goods of low value.

Bargaining

Chase deals like a shark with this tree. Bargaining reduces the markups merchants charge you on their goods, and you can eventually get them to cough up more money than their upper limit, or ease the markdown applied on goods you sell to them.

Merchant markups are reduced by 5%.


Bargaining (II)

Prerequisites: Mercantilism (20), Bargaining (I)

Required For: Appraisal (III), Trusted Seller (III)

Merchant markups are reduced by 10%.


Appraisal


Appraisal (III)

Prerequisites: Mercantilism (40), Bargaining (II)

Required For: Appraisal (IV)

Merchant markups are reduced by 15%. Merchants will offer up to 10% more than their highest buy price.


Appraisal (IV)

Prerequisites: Mercantilism (60), Appraisal (III)

Required For: Appraisal (V)

Merchant markups are reduced by 20%. Merchants will offer up to 20% more than their highest buy price.


Appraisal (V)

Prerequisites: Mercantilism (80), Appraisal (IV)

Merchant markups are reduced by 25%. Merchants will offer up to 30% more than their highest buy price.


Trusted Seller


Trusted Seller (III)

Prerequisites: Mercantilism (40), Bargaining (II)

Required For: Trusted Seller (IV)

Merchant markups are reduced by 15%. Merchants' markdowns are reduced by 5%.


Trusted Seller (IV)

Prerequisites: Mercantilism (60), Trusted Seller (III)

Required For: Trusted Seller (V)

Merchant markups are reduced by 20%. Merchants' markdowns are reduced by 10%.


Trusted Seller (V)

Prerequisites: Mercantilism (80), Trusted Seller (IV)

Merchant markups are reduced by 25%. Merchants' markdowns are reduced by 15%.
